I know I've always said I like the sort of rain storms you get in summer. A little warmth and they seem so different and much more enjoyable. But day after day of it, when your main mode of transport is a bicycle, gets just a little old. Of course there's alternatives, it's just I think I'm starting to go a little stir crazy. Or maybe more than a little.

You know that Lover Lad guy? I've got a date with him tomorrow. So maybe I can borrow your car if it's still raining like this?

I've never had a catfish before, not that I can remember. Lots of other fish, salmon, trout, seabass, snapper, tuna...other fish that you'd expect to see on a sushi menu I guess. I always thought they looked funny, with the whiskers. Not that that's my reason for never trying it. I just never have. I've never really thought about it but I don't really think of myself as a big fish person. I like sushi and grilled salmon is always good but I don't know, I find beyond that I'm a little particular. I love shrimp though. Oh, and crab. Any shellfish really. Clams, I love clams. I still think they are such an unfortunate looking food, clams and mussels and oysters, but so tasty. But, catfish...my curiosity is piqued, I admit it!

I understand the necessity of a new system...but it's going to be so hard to adapt to a change in a system that has been in place for well over a hundred years. And it isn't like just some tetchy Yankees pride talking, I'm a born and raised Dodgers girl. Okay, the juggernaut that is the house Jeter built grows on you but nothing can totally replace my Dodgers. Not records, history, players, location or even existing as a franchise or not is going to change that. They'll always be first in my heart.

Anyway though, it's just exciting that it's baseball season again. Because there is nothing better than a warm summer afternoon, sitting along the first base line with a beer, hot dog and some peanuts. As long as the game is good it doesn't even have to matter who is playing.

The video starts with a blur of motion as Arizona sits down on the couch with the camera held away from her. She waves at the camera with her free hand, showing off a compression bandage wrapped wrist. Awesome, isn't it? She looks at her own wrist before dropping it out of the shot. Really, it's not that bad of a sprain but I thought I'd show it off anyway. Yeah, there's also that fact I'm letting it rest and not typing so I don't have much of an option but showing it off.

The image blurs again for a moment as she moves the camera, showing off jeans which are torn at the knee. But, obviously, I am not the real victim today...they were my favourite pair too. Another blue as she brings the camera back up to face level.

Since I've never really understood the concept of keeping embarrassing moments to yourself, I might as well admit it. I was doored. Which is when you are biking along and a car opens it's door into the bike lane and you collide with it. She holds up the injured hand and waves it slowly, silencing any imagined reactions. It's not as funny as it sounds, actually. Though, I get it, sounds like something out of sitcom, yeah yeah. I was going slow I didn't catch any air. Just a sudden meeting with the ground.

But the real reason for taking the time from my tough recovery to post? Special orders. She flashes a bright grin and camera before continuing. Cam, you should, no, you must stop off on your way home and get one of those turtle cheesecakes from Sam's. You owe me for the pie, bro. Her expression shifts into Serious Face for a moment, giving herself a moment to virtually stare her brother into submission before she turns off the video, the image suddenly cutting to black.

I got a call today to a syncopal episode. Young women and her husband, living in the basement of her parent's house, wasn't sure what was going on other than it was a syncopal episode. And the woman wasn't really giving us information in front of her family and I've got a sense I'm not being told something. So we figured we would have to do some investigating. I was thinking maybe drugs were involved, that was kind of the direction it was going.

So we get her in the back of the ambulance, her husband is up front and I tell her, I'm not a cop, you can tell me anything, just explain the situation to me. So...maybe you'll jump to the same conclusion I did. The couple was in bed, newly wed couple doing what newly married couples do, and, she says, all of a sudden she got very flushed and felt hot all over and she suddenly felt faint and like she was going to pass out.

I decided to let it wait til we got to the hospital. I did my job, took vitals, EKG, because it could always have been something else. I turned the duty over to one of the no nonsense nurses and gave the report very much like this and told her I was letting her handle it as I thought there was some education that needed to be done here. And she said she was going to start with her husband because if this was the first time she felt that... She's my favourite nurse. And that's why you always do a good history, you never know what you're going to find out.
